The bodyshop previews the Goodwood Festival Of Speed

Here at the bodyshop, it’s no secret that we share your passion for vehicles, both old and new. This Thursday, one of the UK’s most exiting motoring events will be opening its gates to the public.

As some of you may already know, Goodwood events don’t compare to other classic car festivals or motor shows, because even the oldest models are tested round the iconic track. This year 200,000 people are expected to visit West Sussex, making it one of the most popular car events in Britain.

Spectators will have the opportunity to witness but also drive the latest production cars from many top manufactures. From the stunning Aston Martin Vulcan to the New Audi R8, we will run you through some of the key cars to look out for this year:

Aston Martin has taken on the McLaren P1 GTR and Ferrari FXX K with a track only, hyper car of their own. Named the Vulcan, this completely re-bodied rendition of the One-77 has a 7.0-litre V12 engine, which can be turned up to 800bhp-plus. Priced at £1.8m, is it worth that much? You bet it is! No doubt the hyper car will hit that hill climb this weekend!

Many Goodwood goers may see the Ferrari 488 GTB and Ferrari FXX K as the best piece of news this summer. That’s right, both Ferrari’s turbocharged 458 successor and their £2m track monster will be tackling the 1.6-mile hill climb. Where the FXX K has a V12 engine with an output of 1,036bhp, it’s clearly a very powerful machine that will be flying around the track. This is compared to the 488 GTB, which has a less powerful engine producing 660bhp; still reaching a top speed of 205 mph, nonetheless. So whatever you do this weekend keep an eye out for these motors.

Out of all the stands this year, Audi’s could be the best sounding of the bunch. The all-new R8 V10 will undoubtedly be firing up its engine and making its debut in the UK at some point over the four day festival. Coupled with the 362bhp RS3 Sportsback mega-hatch, it’s not the only Audi to be making its first appearance.

In the same way that Goodwood welcomes all cars, the bodyshop repairs all makes and models, from the family saloon to high performance prestige vehicles.
