Body Kits for Cars
The Bodyshop has been serving London and Essex since 1985 and in that time we have fitted countless body kits for all makes and models of cars. The knowledge we have acquired since inception means that the panels we shape to your vehicle carry the same standard as a factory-fitted job directly from the manufacturer – therefore you can be sure that your transformed automobile’s appearance will be of the highest quality and long-lasting.
Unlike many other garages that offer a body kit installation service, The Bodyshop can also help procure your new parts. This comprehensive approach is advantageous to our customers, as you will be saving money on both the body kit fitting and purchasing stages.
When it comes to deciding what exterior part of your vehicle you would like to upgrade, it can be a complete overhaul of your car’s bodywork (new body kit), or an upgrade to a single panel (front bumper). Either way, The Bodyshop can apply customisations to the most areas, including:
- Bumpers
- Spoilers
- Grilles
- Wings
- Side skirts
- Xenon Headlight Upgrades
- Caliper repainting
- Bonnet Vents
What our Process Involves
When looking to upgrade cars with body kits, the process isn’t as simple as just an installation, naturally a great amount of due diligence would have to be undertaken to ensure the safety of the vehicle is assured after the modification too. Once this has been guaranteed the following services are also provided, in addition to installation and procurement, as part of our body kit upgrade package:
- Alignment – We guarantee your new panels will be lined perfectly with other areas of the car bodywork, even if the panels do not align ‘out-of-the-box.’
- Repair – Our proficient mechanics will expertly address any required repairs or adjustments to your body kit to ensure an accurate fitting.
- Spraying – There is no use in having a new panel or body kit fitted if it does not complement the rest of the car’s paintwork. Our experienced painters can colour match, or if needed meticulously blend the paint, to ensure seamless colour matching. Our workshop can even carry out a complete vehicle respray, if you would like to enhance the colour of your car’s exterior.

Body Kits Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Some body kits can affect performance as they add excess weight to a vehicle, or alter the aerodynamics of a car. However for everyday driving this will be of no concern.
The Bodyshop can procure body kits, however you can search for your own online if preferred. Many online stores sell a wide variety of body kits, but you must ensure it is of high quality. We would recommend contacting a specialist supplier that provides body kits for specific car brands, so you will receive the finest quality material. For example, speak to a Bentley body kit specialist if you own a Bentley.
This is not possible to answer as there are a huge variety of factors that can influence the price. These include:
- Make and model of the car. High-end cars are typically more expensive.
- The extensiveness of the upgrades. One single panel would be cheaper compared to a whole new body kit.
- Quality of the material. A lesser condition will of course be cheaper. Another consideration is that if the part is of poor quality, or ‘wobbly’, it may need further filler work, which can increase costs in the future.
When it comes to body kits, you get what you pay for, so it is always worth researching the desired part thoroughly.
Each body kit, or part, will have a specific installation method and it can vary greatly. For example, some lower lip spoilers require you to also remove the bumper, whereas others can screw on without bumper removal. Similarly, most side skirts can be fitted by simply jacking the car up, however this is not the case 100% of the time and will depend on the car and also the specific part.
Our process always involves a ‘dry fit’, where we loosely position the new body kit part to the vehicle in its current state before considering painting or a secure fit. This way we know if the new part requires any additional work or fabrication.
