Premium Vehicle Resprays in Essex and London
There is no doubt that the most impactful modification that can be applied to a vehicle is upgrading its exterior appearance, or more specifically, the paintwork. That being said, a car respray is certainly a large project to be undertaken and must be handled by an experienced workshop, as many elements require an expert touch, from seamless paint blends to maintaining the bodywork condition.

We are the trusted service for custom car paint jobs in the Essex and London area, with a team of professionals that work closely with customers to ensure our vehicle modifications fit their exact specification.

What is Involved when Respraying a Car?
Respraying your vehicle not only upgrades its look, but it comes at a cheaper cost than buying a new body kit. However, it is not as simple as just painting over the existing colour, a procedure must be followed to guarantee that the car respray is both impactful and long-lasting.
Here is a brief outline of our process for car repaints:
- The automobile is cleaned thoroughly, so that the existing paint is fully exposed.
- The areas to be painted is sanded lightly and any recommended repairs are carried out.
- A primer layer is then applied to ensure the basecoat colour is identical to the specification.
- Our expert painters mix paint on site to achieve a perfect colour match to what is desired and to fit manufacturer’s specifications. This also includes a variety of finishes, such as matte, pearlescent or satin.
- Parts of the car that will not be painted are covered and the vehicle will be placed in our workshop oven for the basecoat can be applied – Our dedicated painters will spray the vehicle manually with a spray gun.
- Once the basecoat has dried, a clearcoat, or lacquer, is layered on the vehicle. This protects the basecoat and amplifies its colour.
- Upon completion of the respray job, the vehicle will undergo polishing and denibbing to attain a sheen resembling a brand-new car.
Single Panel vs Full Car Respray
Single panel resprays are typically used for paint repairs, rather than bespoke full vehicle resprays. This is because chips and scratches usually only effect one panel, so a complete overhaul of the paintwork is not necessary. If however you are not satisfied with the colour of a single panel of your vehicle, then we can modify it so it blends with the rest of the car’s bodywork.
Our full car respray service provides the opportunity to restore the condition of your entire vehicle’s paintwork, or give it a complete new look, by applying a new colour and finish to the whole car.
Different Types of Car Paint
The type of paint you choose for your vehicle will have a huge impact on its final appearance. Most cars have a ‘solid’ paint finish, where there are only three layers involved – primer, paint and lacquer. A ‘solid’ paint finish is likely to be more cost-effective than other finishes and also cheaper to repair with touch ups, however here are three other common paint types that can really enhance your car’s look and give it that ‘wow-factor’:
-
Metallic Car Paint
Metallic paint contains small metal flakes or metallic pigments, typically made from aluminum, zinc, or other metallic materials. When applied to a car’s surface, metallic paint creates a shiny, reflective finish that adds depth and a distinct sparkling effect to the appearance of the vehicle.
It is worth noting that metallic paint requires special care and maintenance to preserve its effect. Regular washing, waxing, and avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive materials can help keep the paint looking its best and prevent any damage to the metallic finish.
-
Matte Car Paint
Matte paint provides a non-reflective, flat finish. Unlike traditional glossy finishes, matte paint has a low sheen and does not reflect light in the same way. It creates a smooth, velvety appearance that can give a car a unique and distinctive look.
Similar to metallic finishes, ongoing maintenance is important. The lack of a protective clear coat makes the paint more susceptible to scratches, stains, and damage from environmental factors. Regular washing and gentle hand drying are recommended to avoid water spots or streaking, whilst waxing or polishing the matte surface is generally not recommended.
-
Pearlescent Car Paint
Pearlescent finishes incorporate pearlescent pigments to create a lustrous and iridescent effect on the painted surface. It combines the colour of the base coat with the reflective properties of the pearlescent pigments to produce a shimmering and dynamic appearance.
The pearlescent effect is often described as a “color shift” because the paint can display different hues or shades depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions. For example, a pearl white paint might show subtle hints of pink, blue, or green when viewed from different perspectives.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for Car Bodywork Resprays:
This is very much dependent on the car and the extent of the job. Firstly a smaller car would be cheaper as it has less surface area.
If the job is more extensive, then expect the price to increase. For example, if the windscreens need to be taken out, or the engine removed to paint the interior of the car, then it will be a more costly service.
All thing considered, vehicle resprays typically start at the £3,500 mark, with our service also including scratch repair.
2 weeks – 4 weeks is standard, although it can be completed quicker depending on how busy our workshop is at that time.
