Window Tint your Car for Summer!

Whether it is for privacy, interior protection or simply aesthetic reasons; tinting the windows of your car is the perfect modification this summer.

Tinting your car windows reduces the Visible Light Transference (VLT) which is graded on the percentage of light that transfers. Simply put this means that the lower the percentage of light transmittance, the darker the tint.

Window tinting blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays in addition to protecting your privacy whilst in the comfort of your own car. Over time this can make a significant difference in the value of your vehicle and is attractive to buyers when it comes to selling as you will usually find that your interior has suffered far less fading.

One consideration when it comes to window tinting is of course the associated legalities. The law on tinted front windscreens and front side windows depend on when the vehicle was first used, namely either before or after April 1985. However, there are currently no rules when tinting the rear windscreen or rear passenger windows.

A further consideration to acknowledge in regard to window tinting is the method used to tint the windows. A DIY tint will usually produce a number of bubbles and imperfections which look sub-standard and will lower the value of your car in addition to the overall feel and appearance. Therefore, finding a trustworthy car technician is always the most sensible choice.
